The Madagascar Palm is known for its striking appearance, with a thick, bottle-shaped trunk. the Madagascar palm is slow growing.  This is a arid desert plant and requires free draining sandy soils and full sun.

Palm Description

The Madagascar Palm, scientifically known as Pachypodium lamerei, is a distinctive and fascinating succulent tree native to the arid regions of southern Madagascar. Despite its common name, it is not actually a true palm but belongs to the Apocynaceae family. Fragrant flowers white or creamy adorn the top of the plant in late spring which attract butterflies.

Our plants are pest and disease free.  Regular hand watering or single tree emitter irrigation are required to keep your plants alive for the first year.

Lawn Irrigation and rainfall will not be sufficient for watering.  Your palm trees will require fertilization to maintain healthy growth.
