Palm Requirements

Sumawongii Fan Palm prefers protected shade. An irrigation bubbler line will need to be installed with at least 2 good soakings per week during dry season. This palm requires protection from freezing temperatures by installing this palm in the proper site location.

Palm Description

Licuala pelta elegans is the magnificent and much desired, entire-leaved variety. It is a moderately sized palm growing to 15ft. with usually only a short trunk. The Sumawongii palm is more tolerant of cooler weather and thrives in subtropical Florida conditions.

Country/Region of Origin

Malaya, and South Thailand.

Our plants are pest and disease free.  Regular hand watering or single tree emitter irrigation are required to keep your plants alive for the first year.

Lawn Irrigation and rainfall will not be sufficient for watering.  Your palm trees will require fertilization to maintain healthy growth.
