Encephalartos ferox Zululand Cycad

Cycad Requirements

Zululand Cycad prefers full sun to part shade. Well drained soils. Very drought tolerant and semi salt tolerant. An irrigation bubbler line will need to be installed with at least 1 good soaking per week during dry season. This palm requires protection from freezing temperatures by installing this palm in the proper site location.

Cycad Description

Zululand Cycad has dark glossy green leaves that resemble a Holly. The male and female cone are bright orange. Very slow growing.

Our plants are pest and disease free.  Regular hand watering or single tree emitter irrigation are required to keep your plants alive for the first year.

Lawn Irrigation and rainfall will not be sufficient for watering.  Your palm trees will require fertilization to maintain healthy growth.
